17-02-2016 11:28 : Timur Timerzyanov departs OMSE for World RX Team Austria, to form a new World RX Austria Team to compete in the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2016. The team will be headed up by Entrepreneur Max Pucher, who announced plans for his World RX Team Austria during a YouTube Press Release posted this morning. (RS)

05-09-2015 18:45 : After setting the fastest times in both the first and the second qualifying heats Swede Timmy Hansen is leading the overnight standings at Lohéac. Reigning World champ Petter Solberg is in second place, Mattias Ekström in third position. (EL)

05-07-2015 18:18 : Mattias Ekström, who crossed the finish line in second place, has been declared the winner of WorldRX of Sweden at Höljes. Timmy Hansen has been made runner-up and Andreas Bakkerud takes home third place. Hansen first got a 5 seconds penalty (for pushing and driving outside the track) that would have dropped him from first to fourth place. However, the Stewards of the Meeting changed their decision in Hansen’s favour after checking several video clips. (EL)

24-05-2015 17:10 : Reigning World Rallycross Champion Petter Solberg has won once again, beating Mattias Ekström and Johan Kristoffersson at Lydden Hill to second and third place in the WorldRX of Great Britain round. Surprise of the day was homeboy MINI 1.6 SuperCar driver Guy Wilks who suffered from a puncture early in the Final to eventually finish sixth overall. (EL)

17-05-2015 16:15 : At the end of Day 2 Finn Toomas ‘Topi’ Heikkinen wins the all decisive Final of the WorldRX of Belgium round at Mettet for the second year back-to-back. Norwegian Petter Solberg, who had to do two Joker Laps for a jump start in his Semi-Final, but nevertheless finished second here, eventually made it to runner-up while Latvian Reinis Nitišs completed the winners podium in third place. 16-05-2015 18:10 : Day 1 of WorldRX of Belgium in Mettet ended with a tie in SuperCars, Petter Solberg​ and Mattias Ekström​ claimed 84 points each. In Heat 1 it was the EKSRX​ team principal who set the fastest time, in Heat 2 Timmy Hansen​ was quickest. However, Solberg holds place 1 of the overnight standings now, Ekström is in 2nd position. In Super1600s Dane Ulrik Linnemann tops the order after three heats, in TouringCar it is Norwegian David Nordgård holding the lead after Heat 3. (EL)

16-11-2013 12:35 : According to the US website RALLYCROSS360 American skateboard legend Danny Way is keen to join the 2014 Global RallyCross series in a second Prodrive MINI SuperCar, presumably alongside his compatriot Dave Mirra. 06-11-2013 18:21 : The original plan was that Sverre Isachsen would be driving his brand-new Subaru Imprezza GR SuperCar in the final GRC round in Las Vegas, but the team has chosen to use the old car instead. “We want to test the new car sufficently before we start competing with it, so it will not happen before next year. We’ve already had some good test days, but we will develop the car even more over the winter. 05-11-2013 11:51 : After having participated in just three of the eight 2013 Global RallyCross Championship rounds so far Brazilian ex-F1 and current NASCAR driver Nelson Piquet Jr. will be back in action at Las Vegas this Wednesday and Thursday. Therefore his Mitsubishi Lancer E10 has been heavily revised and will be at least 80bhp stronger than before. “The engine was completely dismantled and has been equipped with a new bigger turbocharger. With the other transformations of the car this should be sufficient to achieve better results now,” said a spokesman of the team to the Brazilian press. (EL)

The all-new almost 600bhp strong Audi S3 SuperCar of the German team from Friedersdorf in Saxony is ready for action, after it was legalized for Rallycross use by the FIA in October 2010, and shall be seen in WRXC events next year. 03-10-2013 19:12 : ERC24 learned from the USA today that ESPN has announced to drop its X Games events in Europe (Tignes, Barcelona and Munich) as well as in Brazil (Foz do Iguaçu) to concentrate on the events in the United States. A statement of ESPN reads: “We are proud to have run world-class competitions for both the athletes and spectators; however, the overall economics of these events do not provide a sustainable future path. The formats of the FIA European Rallycross Championships for the support categories, TouringCar and Super1600, are maintained, with the calendar comprising the European events in the World Championship. The format of the European Championship for the flagship category, SuperCar, will be adapted and concentrated over five of the 10 European events in the World Championship. This will also have a specific classification for non-permanent drivers not entered in the entirety of the World Championship.”

25-09-2013 17:16 : In Sweden it was decided that next year the STCC series has Rallycross events running alongside its Touring Car races. The new championship will carry the name ‘Rallycross SuperCar Scandinavia’ and will consist of a total of six events, of which four run under STCC auspices. Three STCC Rallycross events will be run at Ring Knutstorp, Mantorp Park and Tierp Arena, while the fourth venue is not decided yet. Kristoffersson Motorsport (KMS) and OlsbergsMSE (OMSE) have already agreed to take part.

18-07-2013 12:06 : Briton Andy Scott will be unable to take part in Round 5 of the British Rallycross Championship at Maasmechelen this weekend after suffering a double fracture of the left collarbone in testing at Lohéac yesterday. During testing for Round 7 of the FIA European Rallycross Championship next month, Scott went off the track and hit the barrier, sustaining the injury and causing damage to the team’s Peugeot 208 SuperCar.

25-06-2013 17:30 : On June 11 ERC24 revealed on its Facebook that Swede Mattias Ekström is going to drive the second Marklund Motorsport VW Polo Mk5 SuperCar in the Munich X Games. Today it was released that the son of ex-Rallycrosser Bengt Ekström will also participate in the Swedish RallycrossRX round at Höljes. Ekström has not driven in a true Rallycross competition yet, but has claimed four overall victories in as many ‘Race of Champion’ (ROC) events between 2005 and 2009.

Pole sitter Andreas Bakkerud lost the lead after about half the distance with a flat tyre while Peter Hedström did not finish due to engine failure.

The two Brazilian drivers will be ex-F1 pilot and current NASCAR star Nelson Piquet Junior, who is set to compete already at Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil, while Rally Raid ace Guilherme “Guiga” Spinelli is going to join “Nelsinho” in Barcelona.
